Well I did it, I filled up my first blog and had to start a new one!
Spring is my favorite season in Texas! The weather is beautiful and mild and the wildflowers bloom. After missing two seasons in the flowers I was very eager to snap some shots with my boys. I knew Jace would be a challenge, and he was, but I really enjoyed our outing. My two regrets? Jace was too... energetic for a family shot using a tripod. He just wouldn't sit still. And I was hoping to get a shot of my boys' shoes in the flowers. But that's okay, I now have my goals for next year. :)
First, the flowers! (And bugs...)
And here are my few shots with the boys. The first just cracks me up, it is the real life shot. Boys bored and squinting, Jacen being wrestled in to place. I hammed it up when I saw Dave was shooting, and it turned out to be one of my favorite candid shots. The second shot is my best mommy shot. I was tickling the older boys and had given my bracelets to Jace. Whatever works, right?
Evan requested a shot of him running like a football player. :)
Jared wanted a more serene napping shot.
Daddy introducing Jacen to the flowers, it was his very first trip!!
I love this next shot of my youngest. I decided to take a second trip to the flowers with him the following week and we found an incredible large field! He took off running, but once I chased him down and convinced him to sit still I captured this gem.
And here is my favorite shot of my three boys together:
After pictures we headed to Washington on the Brazos for a picnic and some playground time. A friendly cardinal inched ever closer to us and I was able to shoot a few neat shots of him.
And finally, both of my trips to the flowers ended with a stop at the ice cream factory. It is a perfect way to end any outing to the country!
